The Gibraltar Health Authority invites applications from suitably qualified Clinical Nurse Specialists in Sexual Health, who by virtue of their citizenship are entitled to take up employment and who are, or on employment will be resident in Gibraltar. The successful candidate will be dual trained in both GU Medicine and Contraception.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated professional with proven knowledge and a minimum of two years’ specialist experience to join our clinical team.
It is anticipated that applicants will be able to demonstrate evidence of undertaking work relating to contraception counselling and provision, pregnancy testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections including education and counselling sessions.
The applicant will need to work effectively as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team within Primary Care, to deliver a high quality service to patients in line with clinical practise expertise, using their clinical knowledge and effective autonomous practitioner skills.
Applicants must have evidential experience of working in both the community and hospital setting with a proven clinical record of continuous professional development within this specialist field of Sexual Health.
The candidate must also be in possession of post registration qualifications in Sexual Health and a non-medical prescribing qualification.
The post holder will be required to have excellent communication skills and to work as an autonomous practitioner giving advice on all sexual health issues including performing microscopy, disease management and symptom control, outreach and education.
This role also requires the post holder to have a working knowledge of current Data protection and Privacy Laws and possess a non-judgemental, customer focused attitude for delivering a high quality health service to the local population in Gibraltar.
The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with the public health team to promote sexual health and have an active interest in safeguarding, and clinical pathway development.
